New Buderus Logatherm WPS completes the range
All major components are integrated and coordinated

The earth is a great source of power and Buderus, a brand of Bosch Thermotechnology, helps customers tap into this potential. New models rated for 22, 33, 43, 52 and 60 kW of output have been added to the manufacturer’s Logatherm WPS range of brine/water heat pumps. They feature high efficiency and a very compact design, many components have been integrated in the case. The addition of these new systems to the range means that Buderus now covers an output range of 6 to 60 kW in brine/water heat pumps.
Logatherm WPS generates up to 79 percent of the heating energy from the environment, reaching a heat pump coefficient of performance (COP) of up to 4.8 to EN 255 – this means: 4.8 kWh heating energy are generated from each kilowatt hour of electrical power. This makes the system eligible for subsidisation under Germany’s current federal market incentive programme. Depending on the specification of the system, Logatherm WPS operators in Germany can obtain an Innovation Bonus in addition to the basic subsidy.
The two compressors in the Logatherm WPS with outputs of 22 and 33 kW feature fast and precise flow pipe temperature control for high hot water flow pipe temperatures of up to 65 °C. The use of compressors with various output ranges on the 22, 33, 43, 52 and 60 kW systems enables three performance levels for optimum heat generation. Separate refrigeration circuits ensure a high degree of reliability and require only small quantities of refrigerant. An annual tightness check is not required. These systems also allow for parallel operation of water heating and heating.
Apart from working very efficiently, the new brine/water heat pumps Logatherm WPS are also extremely silent. Vibration decoupling and optimised compressor disks result in a maximum noise level of 45 dB [A] at a distance of 1 metre.
During the development, Buderus attached particular importance to user friendliness and ease of maintenance. The integrated control HMC 10 with graphics display is easy to programme. In addition, all elements requiring maintenance including the control are accessible from the front. The brine and heating circulation pumps and a switch valve for hot water (refrigeration circuit 1) are already integrated, obviating the need for time-consuming calculations and simplifying the assembly. The Logatherm WPS heat pumps come with perfectly coordinated components.
As a supplement, Buderus offers a system set for operating the Logatherm WPS also as water/water heat pump.

Bivalent hot water storage tanks for Logatherm heat pumps up to 17 kW
For the output ratings up to 17 kW, hot water solar storage tanks are available in two sizes. The selection of the storage tank depends on the individual output of the heat pump.
The new bivalent hot water storage tank Logalux SMH enables the combination of a heat pump with solar domestic water heating. It is based on the proven bivalent storage tanks Logalux SM400 and SM500. The solar heat exchanger in the bottom part of the storage tank transfers the heat generated from the solar system to the domestic water. The upper bare-tube heat exchanger is a double helix that provides a large area transferring the heating output of the heat pump at a low flow pipe temperature efficiently to the domestic water.
The hot water storage tank Logalux SMH is protected against corrosion by the DUOCLEAN MKT coating and a magnesium anode. The 100 mm soft foam insulation with blue or white PE coat serves as heat insulation and provides for low heat loss. Large cleaning ports in the front and on the top of the hot water storage tank simplify maintenance. An electric heating element can be inserted in the centre of the storage tank to reheat the domestic water.
