Multivalent regenerative multi-component system optimally exploits the energy potential of large buildings

The multivalent regenerative multi-component system from Buderus is an intelligent solution for high demands in multi-family houses, residential homes and industrial buildings. This system from Buderus, a Bosch Thermotechnology brand, not only generates heat but also electricity and makes sustainable use of free energy from the environment.

A Loganova EN combined heat and power (CHP) plant from Buderus generates in this multivalent regenerative multi-component system electricity, it heats the domestic water and supports the space heating when necessary. Baseload space heating is provided by a Buderus Logafix WPL air/water heat pump using electricity from the CHP plant. In peak load periods, it is supplemented by a Buderus Logano plus GB or SB gas-fired condensing boiler. Operation is additionally optimised by the energy and storage management system HAST-AKKU® with Legioex® domestic water heater, thus exploiting the economic potential to the full.

Perfect combinations are the key to modern heating. With all components operating in perfect harmony, the environment benefits from low emissions and the owner enjoys low energy costs. With this multivalent regenerative multi-component system, primary energy requirements can be reduced by up to 32 percent in comparison to an old system (based on a 7,500 sqm building erected in 1980).

Low operating costs and high cost-efficiency
The new CHP complete modules Loganova EN in this system with an installed electrical capacity from 20 kW to 240 kW and an installed thermal capacity of up to 347 kW use standard components in a straightforward design with few wear parts. This yields further advantages, including low operating costs and high cost-efficiency. Maintenance intervals range from 2,000 to 4,000 operating hours, depending on the size of the module; the standard industrial gas motor can run for about 40,000 operating hours before requiring a general overhaul.

The Logafix WPL air/water heat pump makes use of the free energy supplied by ambient air and heats the water for heating the rooms even when outdoor temperatures are low. The system makes a sustainable contribution towards climate protection by deriving three-quarters of its energy from the environment while only one-quarter needs to be supplied in the form of electricity. An air deflecting hood with optimised soundproofing ensures particularly low-noise operation.

A gas-fired condensing boiler Logano plus GB312 rounds off the multivalent regenerative multi-component system and makes it exceedingly economical. The boiler can be integrated without difficulty during modernisation work. Due to its compact size, the robust gas-fired condensing boiler with high-performance aluminium heat exchanger occupies little space in relation to its heat output of between 90 kW and 280 kW.

An intelligent energy and storage management system allows to exploit the economic potential to the full. Buderus exclusively supplies an industrially prefabricated hydraulic pipe system known as HAST-AKKU® for this purpose. This system ensures complete hydraulic integration and a perfect overall control concept, resulting in astoundingly high annual utilisation levels.
