New Logasol SKR vacuum tube collectors for highly efficient solar heating support

Buderus, a Bosch Thermotechnology brand, will unveil its new Logasol SKR vacuum tube collectors at ISH. These collectors not only look very stylish thanks to their modern design but are also models of efficiency. The new Logasol SKR use solar energy especially efficiently and can thus cover part of a home’s energy requirements even during times of low solar radiation. The ceramic coating of the mirrors ensures a very long life and a permanently high yield.

These vacuum tube collectors are suitable for solar domestic water heating and, in particular, for heating support, as the excellent thermal insulation of the vacuum tubes enables highly efficient operation even during the cold time of the year. Logasol SKR are available as ready-made modules with six or twelve vacuum tubes and CPC mirrors. They can be combined flexibly to create collector fields of different sizes and may be adapted to the size of the storage tanks used, which is another precondition for optimum operation.

Logasol SKR6 with six tubes has a gross collector surface of 1.46 square meters (L x W x D: 2083 x 702 x 95 mm). The SKR12 has twelve tubes and a collector surface of 2.90 square metres (L x W x D: 2083 x 1392 x 95 mm).

The new Logasol SKR vacuum tube collectors from Buderus are especially resistant to external influences and are particularly well suited for heating support.
Special protection against environmental influences
The Buderus tube collectors are based on the principle of the thermos flask. Two glass tubes are slid into each other and fused at the ends. Specially shaped mirrors behind the tubes collect the sunbeams and reflect them onto the absorber, which sits inside the vacuum – protected from the weather – on the inner glass tube. The adjacent heat conductor profile is connected with the tube grid and transmits the heat to the solar fluid, which carries it to the hot water storage tank.

Ease of installation was a priority in developing the collectors. The connection possibilities are flexible: Inside the collector box, there is already an additional connection line between the connections on the right side and the left side, so that the collector needs to be connected with the connection pipes only on one side. Depending on the local requirements, this can be done on the left side or the right side. Moreover, carrying straps facilitate transporting the collectors onto the roof. The Logasol SKR vacuum tube collectors can be installed virtually anywhere – from slanted roofs to flat roofs to facades.
