Buderus Buderus

An optimised classic

Buderus presents the new Logasol SKN 4.0 flat collector at ISH 2011.

The new Logasol SKN 4.0 flat collector is an especially economic solution for solar domestic water heating. The entry-level model from Buderus, a Bosch Thermotechnology brand, has been upgraded both technically and visually as compared to the previous module. Besides the excellent price-performance ratio, the new flat collector offers a long life thanks to its robust construction and delivers high yields throughout its useful life.

The clear security glass of the Buderus Logasol SKN 4.0 affords a view of the new aluminium full surface absorber with vertical ultrasound welding seams. The frame and the back wall of the new flat collector are made in a single trough-like piece from glass fibre reinforced plastic, which makes them especially resistant. The high-quality collector cover made from solar glass and the trough are bonded together.

Overall, this structure is even more resistant to weather influences and relatively lightweight because of the material. Logasol SKN 4.0 weighs in at under 40 kilograms, which makes work easier for the heating engineer. Measuring in at 1,175 x 2,017 millimetres, the collector is easy to carry onto the roof thanks to the profiled form of the trough and the integrated recessed grips. Moreover, the tried-and-tested system connection technique allows for low-cost installation. With its very low pressure losses and good emptying possibilities, the harp absorber is a key component of the Logasol SKN 4.0, making this flat collector versatile to use and allowing for various arrangements on the roof.

The new collector is available for integration into the roof, for facade or flat roof installation or for installation on the roof. Especially for installation on the roof, Buderus has improved many details of the tried-and-tested installation system. For instance, the screws of the new lateral collector holders have been moved to the side for easy access; as a result, the fastening elements are hidden below the collector and are no longer visible from the front. The different installation options allow the collector to be positioned in the ideal location of the building; ready-made package solutions greatly facilitate the integration of the solar system into the heating system.

The new Buderus Logasol SKN 4.0 flat collector has been upgraded both technically and visually as compared to the previous model.
