Water-bearing and room-sealed wood heating |
Buderus adds several new variants to its range of stoves and fireplace inserts.
|
Wood-fired heating is becoming more and more popular, with a rising number of home owners deciding to install a stove or a fireplace system. Two or three logs are enough to deliver a nominal thermal output of 8 kW or more – too much for just heating the living room of a house built to modern standards. Home owners increasingly wish to use this “excess heat” for heating domestic water or supporting their heating system. This is why Buderus, a Bosch Thermotechnik brand, is expanding its product range in this segment.

Fireplace insert KA316
One of the new products presented by Buderus at the ISH 2011 trade show is the KA316, a water-bearing fireplace insert with a nominal thermal output of 14 kW. The combustion chamber, and with it the routing of the combustion air and the window cleaning air, have been completely revised. As a result, the prismatic see-through window remains clean for an extended period of operation time. Emission values have been reduced to such an extent that the fireplace insert KA136 meets the requirements of the second stage of Germany’s Federal Immission Control Ordinance (BImSchV) already today. Its efficiency has increased by about six percent to over 81 per cent. New building standards also stipulate the possibility of connecting an external combustion air duct. The optional connector can be fitted at either the bottom or rear of the KA316.

New era of room-sealed stoves
The stove blueline 4W RLU is another innovation showcased by Buderus at ISH 2011. The room-sealed variant of this popular stove works independently from the room air and is therefore particularly suited for today’s highly insulated homes. Buderus offers newly developed ducts to draw in the required combustion air from outside. The manufacturer has decided to use the proven flue gas ducts of its pellet stoves, but expanded the diameter to 120 millimetres, the standard dimension for Buderus stoves. The stove blueline 4W RLU is already available from distributors.
